Ovoria – Your European egg bank
Founded in 2001, Ovoria has grown into a reputable international egg donor centre, dedicated to supporting prospective recipients and egg donors across Scotland. Every donation is carried out in compliance with HFEA guidelines, ensuring ethical standards, confidentiality, and non-identifying information for both donors and recipients. Our rigorous medical screening includes blood tests, urine tests, and comprehensive donor information questionnaires. By combining advanced egg freezing methods, in-depth genetic screening, and collaboration with HFEA-registered clinics, we provide Scotland residents with a dependable supply of high-quality donor eggs.

Our role in treating infertility
Ovoria serves as a vital partner for individuals facing fertility challenges, including those who cannot use their own eggs. We coordinate every stage of egg donation IVF, from matching recipients with donors to fertilisation and embryo transfer. This collaborative approach reduces wait times and maximises the chance of a successful pregnancy, helping people in Scotland who need help becoming parents via donor eggs or donor sperm.
The egg donation process for egg recipients
At Ovoria, we simplify the egg donation process to ensure clarity, security, and success for those seeking donor eggs in Scotland. Here’s an easy-to-follow guide:
Step 1: Register Online & Select Your Donor
Start by creating a Private Client account on our secure platform. This grants you access to detailed donor profiles, which include medical histories, available oocytes, and, where possible, childhood and adult photos. Each egg donor undergoes genetic screening, with additional testing available if required. Once you’ve found the right donor, you can select from egg sets of 6, 8, or 12 eggs depending on your IVF treatment plan.
Step 2: Contact the Ovoria Coordinator
After selecting your donor, an Ovoria coordinator will confirm the donor’s availability and guide you through the next steps. This includes discussing medical requirements, legal considerations, and our guarantee system for egg donation. During this step, we’ll address any questions you may have about pricing, timelines, or coordination with your fertility clinic.
Step 3: Sign the Agreement
Once all details are finalised, including donor type, oocyte quantity, and screening preferences, you’ll sign a legal agreement. This agreement ensures transparency and clarifies the terms of your egg donation cycle, so you fully understand the process and what to expect as you move forward with your IVF treatment.
Step 4: Coordinate with Your Fertility Clinic & Arrange Shipping
If you are already working with a fertility clinic in Scotland or elsewhere in the UK, inform them about your egg donor selection. Your clinic must confirm they are ready to receive the frozen eggs from Ovoria. Our logistics team will then arrange for safe and secure transport to ensure your donor eggs arrive at your clinic in time for your IVF treatment.
Step 5: Embryo Transfer & Pregnancy Testing
For fresh egg donations, the egg donor will undergo ovarian stimulation and egg retrieval, while you prepare your uterine lining with hormone therapy. If you are using frozen donor eggs, your clinic will thaw the eggs before fertilising them with IVF or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). The embryos will be cultured for up to five days before one is selected for transfer into your uterus. Approximately two weeks later, a blood test will check hCG levels to confirm pregnancy.
